COMMANDANT (CG-NAV-1)

The Aids to Navigation and Positioning, Navigation and Timing (PNT) Division (CG-NAV-1) reports directly to the Office of Navigation Systems (CG-NAV), which is under the Director of Marine Transportation Systems (CG-5PW). The division is responsible for establishing requirements and policy, providing program level guidance, and coordinating processes, platforms, and personnel necessary to establish, maintain, and operate the United States Aids to Navigation System (USATONS). The USATONS is a critical component of the United States Marine Transportation System (MTS) for reducing transit risks and maintaining capacity.
