Office of Incident Management & Preparedness (CG-5RI)

The Office of Incident Management and Preparedness leads the development of incident management and preparedness doctrine, policy, and guidelines for US Coast Guard missions. Our efforts focus on domestic National Response while also supporting the development of response management systems in the international community. CG-533 integrates doctrine, policy, and guidelines for Coast Guard response operations under the National Response Framework (NRF) while building upon the established National Response System. For the international community, the Office develops proposed international standards for acceptance by the Marine Environmental Protection Committee of the International Maritime Organization.
